RICHMOND, VA-- ODU senior guard-forward Kent Bazemore (Kelford, NC.) has been selected CAA Player of the Week.
Bazemore averaged 25.5 points, 7.5 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 3.0 steals in ODU's 2-0 week. Shot 60.6% from the floor (20-33) and was 4-of-9 (44.4%) from 3-point range. Contributed a team-high 23 points with eight rebounds and four steals in an 81-64 win over UNCW and had a career-high 28 points, seven rebounds and four assists in a 73-67 road win at Missouri State in BracketBusters.
Bazemore now has 1295 career points and has moved up to second all-time in careersteals at ODU with 240, passing Brandon Johnson ('08). Kent has played in 134 careergames which ranks him sixth all-time at ODU, tyied with Brian Henderson ('08).
Nationally, Bazemore is 21st in steals (2.2) and second in that category in the CAA. He ranks ninth in the CAA in both scoring (14.4) and assists (3.1).
The Monarchs hit the road to Atlanta, GA to take on the Panthers of Georgia StateWednesday night.
