NORFOLK, Va. - Old Dominion University junior starter Mairi Buchan was named to the Capital One Academic All-District First Team that was released Thursday. The teams are selected by College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSida).
A native of Stirlingshire, Scotland, Buchan holds a 3.92 grade point average majoring in biology (pre-med).
She is fourth on the Lady Monarchs averaging 7.0 points per game and tied for second on the team in rebounding at 4.3 per game. She delivered a career-high 16 points in Old Dominion's victory at Georgia State on January 19.
First-team Academic All-District ® honorees advance to the Capital One Academic All-America® Team ballot, where first-, second- and third-team All-America honorees will be selected later this month.
