NORFOLK, Va. - The Old Dominion University Sailing team is set to begin the spring portion of their 2011-12 season this weekend in Charleston, S.C. and St. Mary's, Md.

The squad will split between competition at the Charleston Intersectional in Charleston, S.C. (hosted by College of Charleston) and the Saint Mary's Quad in St. Mary's, Md. (hosted by St. Mary's College).

The sailing team was last in action on Jan. 7-8 at the Rose Bowl Regatta in Long Beach, Calif. where ODU placed 14th. Sophomore skipper Scott Hoffmann and sophomore crew Alexa Cavalieri finished the A-Division race in 12th place with 89 points while sophomore skipper Evan Hoffmann and freshman crew Jaclyn Hollander took 15th in the B-Division race with 112 points.

The Monarchs opens their spring schedule at home when they host the ODU Quad on Feb. 25-26 at the ODU Sailing Center.
