NORFOLK, VA-- Kent Bazemore scored 23 and Nick Wright added 19 and Chris Cooper scored 12 to lead the Monarchs over UNCW, 81-64 in a CAA matchup. ODU is now 17-11 overall and 12-4 in the CAA.

The Monarchs broke a 15-15 tie with 9:48 left in the first half on a layup by NickWright, then outscored the Seahawks,26-9 the rest of the half for a 43-24 halftimelead.

In the second half, the Monarchs led by as many as 23, 58-35 with 12:44 left. UNCWwould get no closer than 13.

The Monarchs shot .485 (33-68) from the floor to UNCW's .356 (21-59) and outrebounded the Seahawks, 45-33.ODU committed only eight turnovers, the secondlowest of the year to the seven against Vermont.

Bazemore hit 11-of-18 from the floor to go along with a team high tying eightrebounds and four steals. Nick Wright was 6-for-10 from the floor and he hauled downsix rebounds. Wright has scored in double figures three straight games.

Sophomore Donte Hill dished out a game high six assists, and red-shirt freshmanRichard Ross hauled down eight rebounds to tie Bazemore for the team best alongwith eight points.

UNCW had four players in double figures led by Keith Rendleman with 15 points and11 rebounds and Tanner Milson scored 12. Cedrick Williams and Adam Smith each scored11. Williams also hauled down eight rebounds.

The Monarchs travel to Springfield, MO. for its Brackebuster game with MissouriState on Saturday aat 5 p.m. and will be televised on ESPNU.
