SERIES VS. UNCW
28-17 ODU. The Monarchs defeated the Seahawks, 53-48 in Wilmington on Jan. 25th. UNCW shot
.302 from the floor and ODU .364. Kent Bazemore led with 17 points followed by Chris Cooper with
12 points and 11 rebounds. ODU has won five straight meetings. UNCW last beat ODU in Norfolk in 2007-08, 68-65.
LAST TIME OUT
ODU lost, 68-64 Saturday afternoon to VCU in front of the third straight, and fourth home sellout crowd in the Constant Center. Nick Wright scored 12 points and a career high 11 rebounds and Donte Hill scored a career high 15 points, followed by Kent Bazemore with 14. VCU shot .380 and ODU .361 from the floor, but the Rams hit 20-27 free throws to ODU's 15-27. Both teams had 17 turnovers. It was VCU's first season sweep since 2003-04.
ODU STUDENT ATHLETES TO BE HONORED AT UNCW GAME
Old Dominion University student athletes excelled in the classroom during the 2011 fall semester, with 125 student athletes and 10 cheerleaders and dance team members earning Dean's List honors with a 3.4 grade point average or higher.
The Dean's List honorees will be recognized during halftime activities on Tuesday, Feb. 14 at the Monarchs vs. UNCW basketball game at the Ted Constant Convocation Center.
