HEMPSTEAD, N.Y. - Old Dominion University women's basketball embarks on a three-game road trip this Sunday as they travel to New York to take on Hofstra at 2 p.m.
The Lady Monarchs are coming off a last second loss 57-55 loss to James Madison while Hofstra defeated William and Mary 82-75.
ODU comes into the weekend with a 7-15 overall mark and is 4-6 in CAA play.
Against JMU, Tia Lewis notched her second-straight double-double with 17 points and 10 rebounds. For the season, Lewis has eight double-doubles and 37 for her career. Jackie Cook also pulled down 10 boards while freshman Ashley Betz-White had a career-high nine rebounds.
ODU pulled down a season-high 59 rebounds and season high plus 21 rebound margin. The Lady Monarchs also grabbed 25 offensive rebounds which was also a season-best.
Lewis leads the Lady Monarchs and is fourth in the CAA in scoring with 18.2 points per game and is fifth in the league in rebounding at 9.0 per game. She is currently 14th in school history with 1,505 points and is 21 away from passing T.J. Jordan for 13th all-time.
Betz-White continues to lead all CAA freshman in assists with 78 and is second among league newcomers with 8.8 points per game.
Hofstra is 16-5 overall and 8-2 in league play.
Junior Shante Evans leads the team with 17.8 points per game and 10.3 rebounds per game.
Katelyn Loper is second on the team with 13.9 points per game while Nicole Capurso also averages double-digits at 11.5 per game.
Candice Bellocchio leads the CAA with 134 assists.
The Lady Monarchs continue their road trip with a 7 p.m. contest at Delaware on February 9.
