Betz-White Named Rookie of the Week for the Fourth Time

RICHMOND, Va. - For the fourth time this season, Old Dominion University freshman Ashley Betz-White was named the CAA Rookie of the Week.

A Mechanicsburg, Pa. native, Betz-White started the week tying her career-high with 22 points at William and Mary. She had 19 of those points in the second half and finished 8-of-13 from the floor including four three-pointers. She also dished out three assists and had two steals.

In the Lady Monarchs' 71-68 victory over George Mason, she finished with 16 points, 11 of those coming in the second half. Once again, she made four three's, with three of them coming in the second half, hitting a three with two minutes to go in the game to give ODU the lead for good. Betz-White also had four assists and three steals on the afternoon.

For the season, Betz-White is seventh in the CAA with 74 assists and leads all freshmen in the category and is second in the league in points per game by a freshmen with 9.0.

Betz-White and the Lady Monarchs are back in action Wednesday night when they take on James Madison at 7 p.m. The contest will be featured on ESPN3.
