Box Score

NORFOLK, Va. - Old Dominion connected on a women's basketball Ted Constant Center record 11 three-point field goals, including four from sophomore Jackie Cook, in a 69-44 win over Northeastern Thursday evening.

Cook hit for a career-high 16 points on 6-of-14 shooting to surpass her previous best scoring mark of 14, set just two weeks ago at William & Mary.

Junior Tia Lewis was just one point shy of her eighth double-double of the season, but did score enough to become just the 29th all-time Lady Monarch to reach the 1,000-point scoring plateau. Lewis netted nine points and pulled down a game-high 14 rebounds in the win.

Old Dominion (16-7, 10-2 CAA) dominated the glass, grabbing a season-high 56 rebounds, including 31 on the offensive end. The Lady Monarchs ended the game with a 27-rebound edge over the Huskies.

A 13-0 ODU spurt that was sparked by three consecutive Lady Monarch triples put the home team up 21-7 midway through the first half. Old Dominion led by 12 at halftime and a 16-3 run out of the intermission put the Lady Monarchs up 51-26 with 13:38 remaining.

Northeastern (8-15, 3-9 CAA) would get no closer than 23 the rest of the way and the Lady Monarchs lead ballooned to as many as 38 points.

Old Dominion dominated in second chance points, 31-6 and had 33 points off of 22 Northeastern turnovers.

The Lady Monarchs next host UNC Wilmington on Sunday at 2 p.m. The game will be a PINK OUT and the first 1,000 fans will receive a free pink t-shirt. Additionally, there will be a pre-game breast cancer survivor walk around the court.
