NORFOLK, Va. - Old Dominion University women's basketball had the top recruiting class in the CAA and ranked in the top-50 in the country, according to All Star Girls Report.
With signing day over, the Lady Monarchs are the highest in the CAA at No. 48, finishing just ahead of James Madison who was at No. 49 and Hofstra at No. 59
ODU signed Galaisha Goodhope (Princess Anne) and LaQuanda Younger (Warwick) in head coach Karen Barefoot's first recruiting class. The Lady Monarchs were the only CAA school to have two signees ranked in the top-150 by All-Star Girls Report, with Younger having a No. 122 ranking and Goodhope at No. 140.
In the overall rankings, NC State finished just ahead of ODU coming in at No. 47 while the Lady Monarchs beat out Big East Schools such as Marquette (No. 50) and South Florida (No. 53).
The Lady Monarchs are back in action this week as they take on Alabama, Louisiana Tech and Seton Hall at the Paradise Jam Tournament in the Virgin Islands.
