Soccer Monarchs Host Drexel Friday In Final Regular Season Home Match

NORFOLK, VA-- The ODU Soccer Monarchs (11-4/7-3) host the Dragons of Drexel Fridaynight at 7 p.m. in the final regular season home match for seniors Tommy Webb, Daniel Lidster, Drew Smith and Michael Roura. The Monarchs rank 14 nationally byCollege Soccer News, and TopDrawerSoccer.com, and 16th by the NSCAA.

SENIOR BIOSTommy Webb- Defender- Auckland, New ZealandThe Monarch co-captain and defensive leader. Assisted on two goals against UNCW and scored goals against nationally ranked East Tennessee State and James Madison. He was a 2008 CAA All-Rookie selection and is a communications major. Tommy is the son of Alan and Liz Webb.

Daniel Lidster - Forward, Burke, VA.Scored game winning goal against Northeastern last year...Majoring in communications. His father, George Lidster is the longtime head coach at GeorgeWashington University, and mother is Margaret.

Michael Roura - Goalkeeper, Middletown, NJ.Registered five shutouts in 2008 and has two starts with a shutout last year.Michael is majoring in exercise science and is the son of Greg and Kathy Schwedes.

Drew Smith - Defender, Brick, NJ.Drew has played in 13 games this season for the Monarchs with nine starts.He startedtwo games last year as well. Drew is a communications major and is the son of Rodney and Teresa Smith.

The Dragons come into the match at 5-10-2 overall and 4-5-1 in the CAA after knocking of James Madison Tuesday night, 2-0 in Philadelphia.

Ken Tribbett and Malcolm LeBourne lead the Dragons in scoring with three goals, oneassist and seven points each.

ODU is led in scoring by Yannick Smith with 32 total points on 15 goals, and two assists which lead the CAA and rank fifth nationally. Tim Hopkinson is fifth in the CAA in points with 23 on eight goals and seven assists which rank him 22nd nationally.

Gideon Asante leads the CAA with nine assists and ranks sixth nationally in total assists. As a team, ODU is second nationally at 2.7 goals per game.

After Friday's match, the Monarchs prepare for the CAA Championships which willbe played at James Madison, Nov. 10-13.
