NORFOLK, Va. - Tiffany Minor scored 17 points to lead four Lady Monarchs in double-figures as Old Dominion defeated Davis & Elkins 93-32 Thursday night at the Ted Constant Center.

Minor just missed a double-double while Mairi Buchan added 15 points and 12 rebounds while Jackie Cook added 15 and JoNiquia Guilford chipped in 13 points and 10 rebounds.

The Lady Monarchs jumped out to a quick start going the games first seven points before D&E scored. The Senators brought the score to 11-9 on a three-pointer by Page Turner but that was the closest they got the rest of the night. The Lady Monarchs finished the first half on a 40-11 run that blew the game open. Buchan led the spurt, scoring 11 first half points and pulling down eight boards while Ashley Betz-White had three assists and four first-half steals.

ODU kept on the gas to start the second half, opening on a 20-2 run to make the lead 73-22. Minor had six points during the run and Betz-White had four with Shakeva Richards, Buchan, and Jackie Cook all scoring on the streak.

The Lady Monarchs pushed the lead to 89-28 on a Becca Allison layup and finished the scoring on a layup by Buchan for the final count of 93-32.

To go along with her 15 points and seven boards, Buchan also added seven assists and five steals.

ODU shot well from the charity stripe, going 18-of-21 from the line while D&E was just 8-of-17.

Maquasia Ferebee led the Senators with nine points and four rebounds.

The Lady Monarchs are back in action Nov. 11 when they host Virginia Tech at 7 p.m.
