WILLIAMSBURG, VA--The Old Dominion University men's golf squad placed four individuals in the top 20 and two in the top 10 to finish second at the Joe Agee Invitational Tuesday held at the Colonial Heritage Golf Club.
Sophomore John Dawson (Chesapeake, Va.) shot 75 today to finish the 54-hole event at 222, tied for seventh just five strokes behind the champion Austin Gray from Longwood University. Dawson shot 75 in the first round, 72 in the second and 75 again in the third and final round.
The Monarchs as a team scored 897 for the event, while Longwood took first at 871. High Point was third at 899. Sophomore James Brockington (Oxfordshire, England) finished 10th with a 223 score, followed by senior Neil Henderson (North Berwick, Scotland) at 225 for 12thand junior Thomas Wilde (Berkshire, England) was 17th at 227.
The Monarchs return to action, Oct. 23-25 when they host the Outerbanks Invitational at the par 72, 6535 yard Kilmarlic Golf Course in Powells Point, NC.
