NORFOLK, Va. - No. 21 Old Dominion University kicker Jarod Brown kicked three second half field goals and the Monarch defense shutout No. 9 James Madison in the second half to lift ODU (7-2, 3-2) to a 23-20 victory Saturday afternoon.

Cameron Starke's 46-yard field goal attempt as time expired was partially blocked by Craig Wilkins to seal the ODU win.

James Madison (5-3, 3-2) took a 20-14 lead into halftime but the Monarchs allowed just 76 yards in the second half.

Jarod Brown kicked three second half field goals of 19, 40 and 25 respectively, to give ODU the win.

Larry Pinkard got ODU on the board with a 17-yard TD pass as the Monarchs took a 7-0 lead.

Starke kicked a 32-yard field goal make it 7-3 and JMU took the lead on a Dae 'Quan Scott 12-yard run.

Pinkard caught a 23-yard jump ball score early in the second quarter as ODU regained the lead, but JMU retook the lead on another Scott TD run, and a 23-yard field goal from Starke.
