NORFOLK, VA-- The No. 7/8 ODU Soccer Monarchs (11-3/7-2) travel to Boston, MA fora Saturday evening CAA match against Northeastern (9-5-2/5-3-1) at 6 p.m. The Monarchs are sitting in second place in the CAA.
ODU lost 3-2 to 17th ranked James Madison Wednesday night in Harrisonburg, Va.asTommy Webb and Jason Gaylord scored goals for the Monarchs.
The Huskies are led by Dante Marini with 18 total points on seven goals and four assists, followed by Mike Kennedy with 10 points on four goals and two assists.Goalkeeper Oliver Blum has four shutouts and a 1.19 goals against average.
THE SERIES: ODU leads the series, 5-2-1, including last year's 1-0 overtime victory.
The Monarchs rank sventh nationally by TopDrawerSoccer, eighth by the NSCAA andSoccer Times.
ODU leads the nation in scoring offenseat 3.0 per game and are second in total goals with 41. Junior Yannick Smith ranks third nationally in points at 2.46 per game, fourth in total points with 32, while Gideon Asante leads the nation in assists per game at 0.69 and ranks fourth in total assists with nine.
ODU's next win will be the 300th career victory for head coach Alan Dawson.
The Monarchs close out the regular season next Friday night at home when theyhost Drexel at 7 p.m.
