RICHMOND, Va. - Old Dominion senior forward Emma Batten has been recognized as the Colonial Athletic Association Player of the Week for the fourth time this season, the league announced Tuesday. Additionally, the Lady Monarchs remain atop the NFHCA Division I National Coaches Poll, earning 42 of 48 first-place votes this week.

In seven weeks, Old Dominion has earned six weekly honors from the conference, and Batten has garnered four of them. The senior tallied four goals this past week against a pair of Top 10 opponents.

Batten's week was highlighted with a three-goal performance in ODU's 5-2 road win at No. 3 Maryland Friday. It was the second time this season Batten had posted a hat trick against the Terps. The Oxford, UK native also recorded the Lady Monarchs' lone goal against No. 7 Duke Sunday.

For the fifth consecutive week, ODU topped the Kookaburra / NFHCA Division I National Coaches Poll. The Lady Monarchs garnered all but six first-place votes. North Carolina, Maryland, Connecticut and Duke round out the Top 5.

The Lady Monarchs return to Colonial Athletic Association play on Friday as they welcome James Madison to the Powhatan Sports Complex for a 5 p.m. clash. The game can be seen live on Monarch TV.
