NORFOLK, VA--The ODU Soccer Monarchs (9-2/5-1), winners of five straight return home to take on the Panthers of Georgia State (10-3-1/4-2) Wednesday night at 7 p.m.

Head coach Alan Dawson and assistant Trevor Adair chat about their longtime friendship, that brought them both here to the U.S. from Ireland. Wednesday night's game is "Fan Appreciation" night. There will be giveaways at the front entrance.

ODU sophomore Gideon Asante was named to TopDrawerSoccer.com's and College Soccer News National Teams of the Week. SophomoreTim Hopkinson was named Co-CAA Player of the Week with Evan Scott from Georgia State.

Old Dominion is ranked #11 by the NSCAA, #14 by College Soccer News and #15 by TopDrawer Soccer.

The Monarchs took two road wins last week with a 3-0 victory at William and Mary and a 4-2 victory at Towson. Through 11 games Junior Yannick Smith leads the Monarchs and CAA with 27 points on 13 goals and one assist. Smith ranks fouth nationally at 2.45 goals per game. Sophomore Tim Hopkinson is next with 18 points on seven goals and four assists. Hopkinson scored three goals last week. Gideon Asante, who assisted on four goals last week is third with 16 total points on four goals and a team best eight assists.

ODU junior goalkeeper Victor Francoz has a 1.02 goals against average and a .814 saves percentage along with five shutouts.

THE SERIES: ODU leads, 6-1. The Panthers defeated ODU for the first time ever with a 4-3 decision in Atlanta.

Georgia State is led in scoring by sophomore forward Scott Evans with 15 total points on six goals and three assists. Senior Ayokunle Lumpkin Is next with three goals and two assists. Sophomore Jamal Keene and Eric Lawrence each have three assists. In goal, the Panthers CJ Cochran has a 0.61 goals against average, while Vincent Foermer has a 0.67 GAA.

Evan Scott, scored three goals in Georgia State's 4-2 victory over Drexel on Sunday. It was the first hat trick by a GSU player since 1997, with all three goals coming in a 24-minute span. Helped lead the Panthers to a 2-0 week in CAA play.

ODU hosts Hofstra this Saturday at 7 p.m.
