NORFOLK, VA-- The ODU Soccer Monarchs (4-0) hit the road again for a Saturday nightopening CAA match at George Mason (3-2-2). Game time is 7 p.m. in Fairfax, Va.

The Patriots defeated 24th ranked Cal-State-Fullerton and tied eighth ranked CentralFlorida over the weekend. Junior forward Taylor Morgan was named CAA Player of theWeek after scoring a pair of goals. He is tied with Yannick Smith for the CAA leadin goals scored with six. Morgan also has a CAA best 15 total points.

Last year, ODU and Mason battled to a 0-0 tie. The Patriots lead the series, 16-14-2.

In the latest CAA statistics, Yannick Smith leads the league with a 3.25 points per game average while his team best six goals is tied for the league best with George Mason's Taylor Morgan.

Tim Hopkinson (Nottingham, England), Chris Harmon (Downingtown, PA.) and Gideon Asante (Sunyani, Ghana) are tied for fifth in the CAA with three assists each, while junior goalkeeper Victor Francoz (Fleurieu Sur Saone, France) ranks second in the CAA with a 0.79 goals against average and is second in save percentage at .833.

The ODU Soccer Monarchs remain 11th nationally by Soccer America and moved up to 15th by the NSCAA/Coaches poll. ODU junior forward Yannick Smith was named to College Soccer News National Team of the Week. The Monarchs are also 11th in College Soccer News and 15th in TopDrawerSoccer. ODU is third in the South Atlantic region behind Boston College and Maryland.

In ODU's last match, Smith scored twice in the Monarchs 3-2 overtime win last Saturday night at Elon. The Hillsborough, NJ. native scored the game winner three minutes into the first extra period.

After Saturday, the Monarchs continue their road swing with a Tuesday night match-up in Chapel Hill, NC against fifth ranked North Carolina, then return home tohost Delaware on Friday, Sept. 30th at 7 p.m..
