NORFOLK, VA--The ODU Soccer Monarchs (4-0) remain 11th nationally by Soccer America and moved up to 15th by the NSCAA/Coaches poll. ODU junior forward Yannick Smith was named to College Soccer News National Team of the Week. The Monarchs are also 11th in College Soccer News and 15th in TopDrawerSoccer. ODU is third in the South Atlantic region behind Boston College and Maryland.

Smith scored twice in the Monarchs 3-2 overtime win last Saturday night at Elon. The Hillsborough, NJ.native scored the game winner three minutes into the first extra period.

In the latest CAA statistics, Smith leads the league with a 3.25 points per game average while histeam best six goals is tied for the league best with George Mason's Taylor Morgan.

Tim Hopkinson (Nottingham, England), Chris Harmon (Downingtown, PA.) and Gideon Asante (Sunyani, Ghana) are tied for fifth in the CAA with three assists each, while junior goalkeeper Victor Francoz (Fleurieu Sur Saone, France) ranks second in the CAA with a 0.79 goals against average and is second in save percentage at .833.

The Monarchs return to action Saturday night at 7 p.m. when they begin CAA play at George Mason.
