NORFOLK, Va. - Sophomore Colby Goodwyn (Hampton, Va.) was named the College Football Performance Award's National Running Back of the Week after leading ODU to a 40-17 victory over Georgia State.

The sophomore, who earned CAA Offensive Player of the Week honors as well, carried the ball 26 times for 190 yards and a touchdown, marking the second-highest rushing total in ODU's short program history. The yardage mark is also the highest CAA Football total since New Hampshire's Dontra Peters rattled off 197 yards against Central Connecticut State Sept. 4 last season.

Goodwyn logged three rushes of 20-or-more yards in the win including a 53-yarder in the fourth quarter.

The purpose of the College Football Performance Awards is to provide the most scientifically rigorous conferments in college football.
