Women's Soccer Drops 4-0 Decision at Richmond

RICHMOND, Va. - Becca Wann scored three goals as Richmond defeated Old Dominion University women's soccer 4-0 Thursday night at Robins Stadium.

Richmond (1-2-2) got on the board in the 28th minute when Ashley Williams took a shot that Brianna Alvarado deflected off the cross bar, the ball bounced to Wann who headed the ball in the goal to give the Spiders a 1-0 lead.

Richmond added to its lead just two minutes into the second half when Wann headed in a cross from Liza Koch.

Wann completed her hat trick with her third header off another cross from Koch to give UR 4-0 lead.

ODU (0-3-1) had a solid chance in the 16th minute of play when Hallie Rogers sent a pass to Lisa Bernardini who sent a shot just over the cross bar.

The Spiders added to its lead in the 52nd minute when Emily Dale lofted in a shot from the left side off a throw-in from Wann.

Richmond outshot the Lady Monarchs 29-11 with Wann having 11 shots for UR. Jocelyn Weidner and Kelly Evans led ODU with three shots apiece.

Alvarado made eight saves in goal for ODU while Melissa Pacheco had three stops for the Spiders.

ODU is back in action on Sunday when they return home to face Arizona State at 1 p.m.
