RICHMOND, Va. - Old Dominion senior forward Emma Batten has been named the Colonial Athletic Association Player of the Week, the league announced Tuesday.
In her first two games in a Lady Monarch uniform, Batten posted seven points on three goals and one assist. Her stellar play helped guide ODU to consecutive wins over Top 10 opponents.
The Lady Monarchs (2-0) topped No. 8 Penn State 5-2 on Friday before upending No. 10 American on Sunday. Batten posted a goal and dished out an assist against the Nittany Lions, while tallying a pair of scores against the Eagles.
Batten and the 12th-ranked Lady Monarchs are next in action on Friday, Sept. 2 against defending national champion Maryland. Game time is set for 5 p.m. at the Powhatan Sports Complex.
