Iliadis Leads Australia's University Squad In China

SHENZHEN, CHINA - Old Dominion University's senior guard Trian Iliadis (Perth, Western Australia) competed at the 2011 World University gamesduring the Month of August.

The 6-4 guard scored 14 points in Australia's 72-67 loss to eventual goal medalist Serbia. Trian was a perfect 4-for-4 from beyond the arc. In another game, Australia rolled over Hong Kong with a 103-61 decision. Trian scored six points with seven rebounds, three assists and two steals in that contest.

Trian also scored 16 in a tough loss to Turkey as he drained 4-9 from three-point range as the Aussies just missed making the final round of eight.

The rising senior majoring in biochemistry, was selected to the CAA men's basketball All-Academic first team for the second year in a row in 2010-11. He was also named first team Academic All-District III by CoSIDA, Academic All-State by VaSID. Iliadis is a Dean's List student who received the CRC Press Chemistry Achievement Award in 2010.

On the court, Iliadis played in all 34 games for an ODU squad that went 27-7 and captured the CAA championship for the second year in a row. The Monarchs' guard averaged 6.0 points per game this season and led the team with 41 three-pointers. He scored a season-high 15 points in a non-conference victory over Dayton and poured in 10 points in ODU's win over VCU in the CAA championship game.
