LAS CRUCES, NM- Former Monarch pitcher Joe Haumacher (Middlesex, NJ.) is now pitching for the Las Cruces Vaqueros of the Pecos League of Professional Baseball Clubs.
The league includes: Alpine Cowboys, Carlsbad Bats, Roswell invaders, Ruidoso Osos and the White Sands Pupfish.
The Vaqueros play in Apodoca Park in Las Cruces, NM and the field manager is Miquel Gomez. The team is currently in third place with a 25-21 record, six games behindRoswell. Haumacher has pitched in three games thus far and also has a base hit.
Hamaucher was 1-5 at ODU this past season in 17 appearances. He pitched six inningsagainst Richmond, allowing only one run. He also pitched 5.1 innings for a winagainst Norfolk State.
Prior to coming to ODU, Haumacher pitched for Guilford Tech where he led Region Xin innings pitched and ranked third in the region in victories.
