NORFOLK, Va. -- ODU men's swimmer Kristofer Hagg (Skovde, Sweden) was named to the Second Team Capital One Academic All-District® Team as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).
The 2010-11 Capital One Academic All-District® Men's and Women's At-Large (Sports) Teams, selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America, have been released to recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performance athletically and in the classroom.
Hagg, who earlier this year was among five student-athletes named a Colonial Athletic Association Scholar-Athlete for the winter sports season, boasted a 3.91 grade point average in electrical engineering technology.
The senior Monarch men's swimmer was a three-time recipient of the CAA Commissioner's Academic Award and was a Dean's List student at ODU. In the pool, Hagg placed 16th in the 200 freestyle at the 2011 CAA Championship and swam the anchor leg on the Monarchs' fifth-place 800 free relay squad. He also finished 18th in the 500 freestyle and 19th in the 1650 freestyle at the conference meet. Hagg has twice earned All-CAA honors in the 800 free relay and was a member of the Monarchs' squad that set a school record in the event in 2009.
