Thomas DeMarco Named To CFPA Quarterback Watch List

NORFOLK, Va. -- Rising redshirt senior Thomas DeMarco (Palm Desert, Calif.) was named to the Quarterback Watch List by the College Football Performance Awards.

The purpose of the College Football Performance Awards is to provide the most scientifically rigorous conferments in college football. Recipients are selected exclusively based upon objective scientific rankings of the extent to which individual players increase the overall effectiveness of their teams.

DeMarco has already been named one the Top 10 FCS quarterbacks heading into the 2011 season by The Sports Network.

Last season, he was a member of the Walter Payton Watch List, averaging 250.5 yards passing per contest including passing for a career-high 407 yards at Monmouth. DeMarco also passed for over 300 yards against Jacksonville and #14/16 Cal-Poly and threw for a career-high four touchdowns in games at Campbell, at Monmouth, and vs. #14/16 Cal Poly.On the ground, the two-year starting signal caller ran for 423 yards and a team-leading eight touchdowns as the Monarchs' second leading rusher. He averaged 38.5 yards rushing per game, running for a pair of touchdowns at Hampton and versus Savannah State.
