RICHMOND, Va. - Old Dominion freshman Elizabeth Haycock and James Madison senior Catrine Gunnersson tied for second place at the UNC Wilmington Lady Seahawk Classic to receive CAA Women's Golfer of the Week honors.
Gunnersson and Haycock carded back-to-back rounds of three-over 75 in the 72-par, 6,011-yard event at the River Landing Country Course. Gunnerson shot her season low of the season for a 36-hole event, besting her previous outing by seven strokes to finish tied for second and earned her first top 5 finish of the 2010-11 season. Her outing in North Carolina was the highest of her four-year career. Haycock posted her first top 5 finish of the season after placing 16th twice and 14th once earlier this year. The rookie led the Lady Monarchs to a second place team finish, while the veteran helped the Dukes to a fourth-place squad finish. Both CAA players finished just two strokes behind Fanny Wolte of East Carolina, who earned medalist.
