Lewis, Parker, Voronina & Allison Garner Year-End Awards

NORFOLK, Va. - Members of the ODU Women's Basketball team were honored at the Annual Lady Monarchs Banquet held on April 21st at the ODU Rowing Center. Senior guard Jasmine Parker was selected as the team's Defensive Player of the Year, while junior Tia Lewis was honored as Offensive Player of the Year. Senior forward Alena Voronina received this year's Coaches Appreciation Award and freshman guard Rebecca Allison received the Academic Excellence Award.

As a senior this past season, Parker led the team and CAA in steals per game (3.2) and was also named CAA Defensive Player of the Year. She also led the team in assists per game (4.3) and was second in scoring averaging at 11.8 points a game. She ended her career at ODU 23rd all-time in scoring and seventh in steals.

Lewis led the team in scoring (12.1) and rebounding (7.8) and proved to be an efficient player for the Lady Monarchs the entire season. She finished the season Top 5 in the CAA in blocks per game (1.1) and field goal percentage (51.2) and was a Third Team All-CAA selection.

Voronina proved to be a key contributor on this years squad, starting all 25 games she played. She led the team and was second in the CAA shooting 54.3 percent from the field. Voronina also ranked third on team in scoring average (11.3) and rebounding (5.4).

Allison had an increased role this season playing in 28 games for the Lady Monarchs. She helped stabilize the guard position off the bench and ended the semester with a 3.25 GPA.
