National Academic Squad

NORFOLK, Va. - The Old Dominion field hockey team has been recognized for its outstanding academic achievements as the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) announced that the Lady Monarchs have earned a 2010 Gladiator by SGI / NFHCA Division I National Academic Team Award.

The National Academic Team Award recognizes those institutions that have achieved a Team GPA of 3.0 or higher during the first semester of the 2010-11 academic year.

Additionally, 15 Lady Monarch student-athletes have been recognized on the 2010 Gladiator by SGI / NFHCA Division I National Academic Squad.

Towson and American the only two schools in the country with more student-athletes named to the list.

The National Academic Squad recognizes those student-athletes who have achieved a cumulative GPA of 3.3 or higher through the first semester of the 2010-11 academic year.

Senior's Amanda Bieber, Alyschia Conn, Loran Hatch, Anna Kern and Sami Richardson were all recognized for the fourth consecutive year. No team in the country boasted more four-year recipients than ODU.
