NORFOLK, Va. -- Old Dominion head coach Bobby Wilder announced the hiring of Chris Crouch as the Director of Football Operations after serving in the interim this past season.
"The Old Dominion Football family is excited with the addition of Chris Crouch to our staff," said Coach Wilder. "Chris brings a high level of energy and enthusiasm to his work which will be a tremendous benefit to our student-athletes."
Crouch will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the football office and program coordinating a wide variety of support activities for the football program. Among the duties Crouch will handle include budgeting, planning and coordination of team travel, planning and coordination of the pre-season camps, working closely with the Academic Affairs and Compliance to ensure adherence to NCAA, CAA and Old Dominion rules and regulations, organizing game day logistics, and working with the Old Dominion Athletic Foundation in organizing fundraising opportunities.
Crouch is no stranger to the Old Dominion athletic family. Prior to serving as the Interim Director of Football Operations, Crouch was the Monarchs' Director of Athletic Camps from 2007-2009. In that capacity, Crouch worked with the 15 Monarch athletic programs in developing marketing plans, budgets, and policies for over 50 camps.
While obtaining a masters in sports management from Old Dominion, Crouch also held roles as a graduate assistant in the finance and marketing offices.Prior to returning to the Monarch Athletic Department in 2007, Crouch was the Program and Sports Director at the Central Florida YMCA. There he helped coordinate all elements of youth and adult sports including scheduling, budgeting, communication and training & evaluation of staff and volunteers. He also worked with the community in developing and promoting youth activities in aquatics, camps, and athletics.
Crouch also spent time with the Walt Disney Company as a Sports Event and Sale Intern and as the Assistant Tournament Director with the Kaylee Scholarship Foundation. While with Disney, he worked with some of the Wide World of Sports' largest events including the Pop Warner Super Bowl, World Cup Paintball, and the Walt Disney World Marathon.
A 2003 graduate of Lock Haven University with a degree in health & physical education, Crouch obtained his masters in sports management from Old Dominion in 2005.
