SI.COM HONORS HASSELL - ODU NOW NO.1 IN MID-MAJOR TOP 25Hassell and Bazemore named NABC All-District.

NORFOLK, VA--ODU senior Frank Hassell has been named honorable mention All -American bySI.COM. Both Hassell and Kent Bazemore were named to the NABC All-District 10 squad whileThe team is No. 1 in the latest Collegeinsider.com Mid Major top 25.

Hassell who helped lead the Monarchs to their second straight CAA crown was named first teamAll-CAA and Tournament MVP. The Chesapeake, Va. native led the team with a 15.0 points and9.6 rebounds (30th nationally) per game. He also hit .561 from the floor and .731 from the line. Hassell has 15double-doubles thus far this season and is ODU's 10th all-time rebounder with 904. Hassell has 1262 career points which is 28th on ODU's all-time list.

Bazemore, the CAA's Defensive Player of the Year is second in scoring at 12.5 points per game. He leads theCAA in steals at 2.3 per game (20th nationally). Bazemore was also named to the CAA's All-Tournament squad.

Hassell joined Charles Jenkins (Hofstra), Denzel Bowles(JMU), Cam Long (Mason), Jamie Skeen(VCU)On the NABC District 10 first team. Bazemore joins Chaisson Allen (NU), Chad Tomko(UNCW),Quinn McDowell(W&M) and Samme Givens (Drexel) on the second team.

NOTE: ODU's seniors are not only the winningest, but have played the most career games. FrankHassell leads with 138, passing Gerald Lee ('10) by one. Ben Finney and Darius James are tied with Leeat 137.
