Women's Tennis Comes up Short, Falls to Texas Arlington 4-3

NORFOLK, Va. - Old Dominion University women's tennis fell just short on Sunday, falling 4-3 to Texas Arlington at the Folkes-Stevens Indoor Tennis Center.

Texas Arlington won the doubles point with wins at the number two and three spots. Joanna Dobrowolska and Melissa Esnal Olguin gave ODU its only win with an 8-6 victory at No. 1.

Dobrowolska, Ivanova and Margarita Belyakova won singles matches for the Lady Monarchs. Dobrowolska won in three sets while Ivanova and Leyakova won in straight sets.

Nika Khmolovska almost came back after she dropped her first set 7-5, winning the second set 6-4, but dropped the third set 6-2.

The Lady Monarchs return to action on Wednesday, as they host Richmond at 1 p.m.
