All-State Defender Sean Christein To Play For Soccer Monarchs

NORFOLK, VA--Old Dominion University head men's soccer coach Alan Dawson announced that All-State Defender Sean Christein (Yorktown, VA.) of Tabb High School will play for the Monarchs in the fall of 2011.

"Sean has been a standout player for his club and High School Teams," said Dawson. "He brings a winning attitude to the field and is a consistent performer who possesses great intangibles. He has aBright future ahead of him and we look forward to being a part of his continued development."

Christein was named first team DAILY PRESS All-Star defender, second team All-State, first team All-Region 1 and All-Bay Rivers District. In 2010. In 2009, he was selected second team DAILY PRESS All-StarDefender, honorable mention All-State, and first team All-Region 1 and All-Bay Rivers District.

Christein is a three-year U.S. Soccer Development Academy player for the Virginia Rush AJ AuxerreTeam out of Virginia Beach. He also been selected for the Market Training Center for Player I.D. into the National Team program.

The son of J.P. and Suzanne Christein, he has one older sister Katelyn who attends Virginia Tech.
