NORFOLK - The Old Dominion University athletics department announced today its dates for Family Weekend and Homecoming, as part of the 2011 Monarch home football schedule.
Family weekend activities will be planned around the Monarchs game with CAA opponent, The University of Massachusetts on Oct. 1. A schedule of weekend activities and ticket information will be announced in the near future. ODU's CAA game on Oct. 15 against the Towson University will serve as the 2011 Homecomingcontest. A week of campus activities will lead up to the football game.
"Our football game with UMass provides a great anchor for Family Weekend on campus, and should have a lot of local interest from our students and their family members. The Homecoming contest on Oct. 15 provides a great CAA opponent in Towson and typically mid October provides some premier autumn weather in Hampton Roads. Additionally, we don't expect Towson to use their entire ticket allotment and this sets up a great opportunity for more of our students, alumni, fans and friends to see the game," says athletic director Dr. Wood Selig.
Old Dominion will begin its football season ticket renewal process in March. New season ticket orders will be filled following the seating of renewals, if tickets are available.
