SERIES VS. GEORGE MASON
ODU leads the series, 33-16.The two teams split last year's games with Mason winning in Fairfax, 71-55 and ODUhere in the Constant Center, 76-60. The Patriots last win in the Ted was 70-66 in 2003-04.

LAST GAME
ODU defeated Northeastern Monday night, 49-34 making head coach Blaine Taylor theschool's winningest men's basketball coach. Frank Hassell led with 16 points and eightrebounds and Trian Iliadis added 11 points. The 34 points by NU was an ODU all-timeopponent low. The previous was 35 by Toledo in 2007.

Five CAA Teams In Top 75 Of RPI:
Five CAA teams are ranked in the top 75 of the RPI through games of Jan. 2 according to Collegiate Basketball News (rpiratings.com). Old Dominion is the top CAA team at #21, followed by Drexel at #32, James Madison at #49, George Mason at #56, and VCU at #73. Only six other conferences (ACC - 5, Big 12 - 6, Big East - 11, Big Ten - 9, Pac 10 - 6, SEC - 6) had five or more teams in the top 75 of the RPI. The CAA is ranked #9 among the nation's 32 Division I conferences.

ODU Receives Votes In Coaches Poll:
For the second straight week, Old Dominion received six points in the ESPN/USA Today Coaches Poll. The Monarchs are off to a 9-3 start with victories over Clemson, Richmond, Xavier and Dayton. Two of the Monarchs' three setbacks were to #8 Missouri and #13 Georgetown.

Five CAA Teams Ranked In Mid-Major Top 25 Poll:
Five CAA teams were ranked in the Mid-Major Top 25 poll released on Jan. 3 by CollegeInsider.com, including three in the top 10. Old Dominion leads the group of CAA teams at #6 while Drexel is ranked #8, George Mason is #10, VCU is #12 and James Madison moved into the poll at #23. The CAA was the only conference to have five teams in the poll and three teams in the top 10.

Crashing The Glass:
Drexel is out-rebounding foes by 12.6 per game, while Old Dominion is out-rebounding opponents by 12.3 per game. The Dragons ranked third in the nation in rebound margin and the Monarchs were fourth as of Jan. 2.

ODU WINS PARADISE JAM TOURNAMENT:
Old Dominion knocked off Xavier, 67-58 on Nov. 22 to win the Paradise Jam Tournament in theVirgin Islands. Senior forward Frank Hassell paced the Monarchs with 16 points and eight reboundsAgainst Xavier. Senior Ben Finney was named tournament MVP and was joined by Hassell on theAll-Tournament team. ODU posted victories over St. Peter's, and Clemson in the tournament.
