EXTREME FOOD DRIVE TO COINCIDE WITH EXTREME MAKEOVER-HOME EDITION ODU is partnering with the Extreme Food Drive at two upcoming basketball games, as part of a region wide food drive to be conducted during the Extreme Home Makeover that begins later this month in southside Hampton Roads. While one local family will receive a new house, courtesy of ABC's Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, thousands more in Hampton Roads will benefit from the donation of non-perishable food items. Fans that bring a non perishable food item to the Lady Monarchs' contest with Georgia State on Sunday, Jan. 30 at 2 p.m., will be admitted to the game for only $5 (that's a savings of $5 off a general public ticket). Donations will also be accepted at the Monarchs' contest with Delaware on Wednesday, Feb. 2. at 7 p.m., at the Ted Constant Convocation center. Complete information on how businesses, schools, churches and other organizations can participate in the Extreme Food Drive is available at www.extremetmc.com or by contacting the local food banks through their websites or by phone.
All the food collected will stay in the region to feed needy families in Hampton Roads and northeastern North Carolina. |
