VCU defeated the Monarchs, 59-50 Saturday night. It was only ODU's second home loss of the season. Bradford Burgess scored 15 and Jamie Skeen 14 with 10 boards for VCU. ODU was led by Darius James and Ben Finney with nine each while Chris Cooper, Kent Bazemore and Trian Iliadis had eight each. Cooper also hauled down nine rebounds and blocked two shots. VCU committed only seven turnovers to ODU's 14. The Rams shot .407 from the floor and ODU shto .392. A sellout crowd of 8457 was ODU's fourth of the year and fifth over 8,000 this season.
