PHILADELPHIA, Pa. -- Old Dominion stayed alive for a berth in the Colonial Athletic Association Tournament with a 3-2 road win at Drexel Saturday night in both teams regular season finale.

Sophomore Chris Harmon (Downingtown, Pa.) netted two goals to lead the Monarchs (9-6-2, 5-4-2) to their second straight win. Harmon now leads the Monarchs with six goals on the season. ODU freshman midfielder Federico Espinach (San Jose, Costa Rica) tallied his first career goal in the win.

Espinach got the Monarchs on the scoreboard first, beating Drexel goalkeeper Tim Washam to the right side in the fourth minute. Drexel would respond just over 15 minutes later when Cory Rohlfsen capitalized on a Dragons corner kick.

Old Dominion regained its lead before halftime as Harmon lofted a high shot from 20-yards out that just got over the outstretched arms of Washam for the score.

After being taken down inside the box in the 62nd minute, Harmon would give the Monarchs a two-goal cushion by converting a penalty kick opportunity. Drexel's Andrew Goldberg blasted a shot on the run from 25-yards out in the 75th minute to pull the Dragons within a single score.

Drexel had an opportunity to tie the game late as the Dragons earned a free kick with 5:40 remaining. DU managed to redirect the kick, but ODU keeper Evan Newton dove to his right to make the most important of his six saves on the night to preserve the win.

Old Dominion must now wait until all CAA teams have completed their regular season before finding out its post-season fate.

Delaware plays VCU on Sunday. UNCW defeated George Mason in overtime andHofstra defeated JMU. So the top three spots are W&M, VCU and Hofstra. If VCU defeats or tiesDelaware, then ODU is the fourth seed.
