Lewis Pours In 20 Points & Pulls Down 23 Rebounds To Lead ODU

NORFOLK, Va. - Junior Tia Lewis (Poulan, Ga.) exploded for 20 points and 23 rebounds to lead Old Dominion to a 82-56 exhibition win over Davis and Elkins College Friday night in front of 3,200 at the Ted Constant Convocation Center.

Four Lady Monarchs scored in double figures. Joining Lewis was Jasmine Parker (Norfolk, Va.) with 16, Jackie Cook (Hinckley, Ohio) with 13 and JoNiquia Guilford (Portsmouth, Va.) with 10.

Old Dominion dominated the boards, holding a 67-29 edge. Senior forward Alena Voronina (Brisbane, Australia) grabbed 10 rebounds and 6-2 freshman Shakeva Richards (Griffin, GA.) had nine.

Senior guard Shadasia Green dished out five assists and Guilford came up with three steals for the Lady Monarchs.

Page Turner led Davis and Elkins with 22 points, while Shalisa Hill scored 12 and hauled down eight rebounds for the Senators.

The Lady Monarchs return to action Tuesday night when they host Bowie State at 7 p.m. in the Constant Center. The game will be the final exhibition for ODU before they open the season at home against Georgia Tech on Nov. 14.
