GAINESVILLE, Fla. - The Old Dominion women's basketball team returns to the road Tuesday, traveling to Gainesville, Fla. for a matchup with the Florida Gators. Tip time is set for 7 p.m. from the 12,000-seat Stephen C. O'Connell Center.
The game will be broadcast on ESPN Radio 94.1 with Richie Summerville on the play-by-play.
Old Dominion (3-1) is coming off a 69-65 win against BIG EAST foe Louisville on Friday. Senior Jasmine Parker tallied a career-high tying 24 points in the win and junior Tia Lewis recorded a double-double with 15 points and 10 rebounds.
Five of ODU's first six opponents, including Florida, are from either the ACC, BIG EAST or the SEC. Both Florida, and the Lady Monarchs' next opponent, Tennessee are out of the SEC.
Florida (5-1) has won three straight games after falling to DePaul on November 18. The Gators topped Navy in their last game, 52-43, to capture the Dead River Company Classic championship in Maine.
Jordan James and Azania Stewart lead the Gators, averaging a combined 21.2 points and 12.9 rebounds per game.
Tuesday's meeting will be the third all-time between the two programs. Old Dominion upended the Gators, 53-51, in the 1997 NCAA Regional Final. Florida got the best of ODU last year though, topping the Lady Monarchs 81-67 in Norfolk.
