NORFOLK, Va. - Old Dominion senior field hockey standout Loran Hatch was named a 2010 Longstreth/NFHCA Division I First Team All-American, the National Field Hockey Coaches Association announced Monday.
Hatch is the programs 29th All-American and first since Caroline Nichols in 2006. The Green Lane, Pa. native had a sensational senior season both offensively and defensively. She recorded a team-high 41 points on 19 goals and three assists in 2010. Her 19 goals tied her for the best mark in the Colonial Athletic Association.
The senior was also named the CAA Defensive Player of the Year after anchoring an Old Dominion backline that boasted seven shutouts and limited an additional five opponents to a lone goal this season. The Lady Monarchs held nationally-ranked Boston University, Drexel and Michigan scoreless this season.
