RALEIGH, N.C. - The Old Dominion women's basketball team will take to the road for the first time in 2010-11 as the Lady Monarchs travel to NC State. Tip time is set for 7 p.m. at the 8,560-seat Reynolds Coliseum.
Old Dominion is off to a 2-0 start for the third time in the last four seasons after topping North Carolina A&T 79-65 last Thursday. The last time the Lady Monarchs went 3-0 to begin a year was 2007-08 when ODU ended the season 31-5 overall and reached the Sweet 16.
Senior Alena Voronina and sophomore Jackie Cook both set career-high's in ODU's win over the Aggies. Voronina set a new career-high in points for the second consecutive game with 14, while Cook pulled down a career-best 11 rebounds, easily surpassing her previous career-high of seven boards.
ODU will be taking on its second Atlantic Coast Conference opponent in its first three games. The Lady Monarchs opened this season with a 65-63 win over Georgia Tech at the Constant Center.
NC State is undefeated at home this season, but dropped its last two games on the road at Alabama and Richmond.
