NORFOLK, Va. - Old Dominion University women's lacrosse has added Melody Shotwell to the staff as an assistant coach, head coach Sue Stahl announced Tuesday.
"We're very excited to have Melody back," head coach Sue Stahl said. "The experience she's gained should work well to guide our girls. We're delighted to have her back on the staff."
Shotwell played for the Lady Monarchs from 2002-06 and ranks ninth in school history with 124 points and 98 career goals.
A native of Fairfax Station, Va., Shotwell graduated from ODU majoring in fashion merchandising and minored in marketing and studio art.
Shotwell taught business and sports marketing the last four years at Mount View High School in Stafford, Va. She was the varsity lacrosse coach at Gar-Field High School in Prince William County and coached field hockey at Gar-Field for two years and one year at Mountain View. Shotwell led the Gar-Field lacrosse team to the program's first-ever win. She was named Coach of the Year in 2009 after leading the team to an 8-4 record.
