TULSA, Okla. - Benjamin Chomette and Krzysztof Muzalewski each won a pair of matches at the D'Novo/ITA All-American Tennis Championships at Tulsa on Saturday.
Chomette got the day started on the right foot for the ODU pair, winning a hard fought three-set match over Purdue's Aaron Dujovne. Chomette won the first set 6-4 and lost the second set 6-4. After the third set was tied at six all, Chomette won the final tie breaker 8-5 to move on to the second round.
Next up for Chomette was Hawaii's Dmytro Kovalyov. Kovalyov won the first set, 6-3, but Chomette fought back with a 6-5 second set win and dominated the third set, 6-1.
Chomette takes on Drake's Mauricio Ballivian tomorrow morning.
Muzalewski was dominant in a straight set win over Utah State's Alex Thatcher, 6-2, 7-5. Muzalewski then topped Cleveland State's Rob Fox 5-7, 7-5, 7-5 in the second round.
Muzalewski takes on Georgia Tech's Juan Spir tomorrow afternoon.
