NORFOLK, VA-- The ODU Soccer Monarchs return to action Saturday night in its homefinale against the Huskies of Northeastern. Game time is 7 p.m. at the ODU SoccerComplex.
It will also be the home finale for seniors Evan Newton (Virginia Beach, Va.), Adam Roscioli (Forest, VA.) and Harry Gillespie (Jensen Beach, FL.).
The Monarchs lead the series, 4-2-1. The Huskies won last year's match in Boston,3-0.
Leading NU in scoring is junior Mike Kennedy with six goals and two assists for 14 points. Ricardo McDonald has four goals, while Laurence Braude and Nick Lueders havethree goals and two assists each for eight points. Goalkeeper Oliver Blum as a 1.25goals against avrage with four shutouts and 59 saves.
The Monarchs 18 goals have all been scored by freshmen and sophomores. Sophomore Jordan LeBlanc leads the team in scoring with five goals, one assist and 11 total points. Freshman Gideon Asante, and sophomore Chris Harmon are next with four goals, two assists for 10 points each.
ODU is currently tied with Delaware and George Mason with 3-4-2 CAA records.George Mason is at Georgia State; William and Mary is at Hofstra; Drexel is atJames Madison and UNCW is at Delaware. VCU and Towson play each other Sunday inMaryland.
