NORFOLK, Va. -- Craig Wilkins was named an Honorable Mention Linebacker Performer of the Week by the College Football Performance Awards.
Wilkins made seven tackles, including a team-leading 2.5 tackles for loss that gave the Georgia State Panthers' seven negative yards. Also Wilkins was a huge part of the defense winning the turnover battle in the win as Wilkins had a pair of fumble recoveries, as well as a forced fumble.
The Monarchs' forced three fumbles, including one by Wilkins, in the 34-20 win over Georgia State, giving tying the ODU mark for the most in a game. Additionally, the four fumble recoveries, including two by Wilkins, were the most by the Monarchs in a game thus far.
On the year, Wilkins, who moved from safety to linebacker this season, is tied for the team leader in tackles with 50 (20 solo, 30 assisted). He also has 7.5 tackles for opponent losses of 22 yards and three recovered fumbles to his credit this season.
