ATLANTA, GA--Despite two goals from Jordan LeBlanc, the Panthers of Georgia State defeated Old Dominion Wednesday night , 4-3 in a Colonial Athletic Association match. GSU is now 6-5-3 overall, and 3-4-1 in the CAA, while the Monarchs who ranked fourth in the South Atlantic Region with a No. 11 in the NCAA RPI drop to 7-4-2 overall and 3-2-2 in the CAA.

ODU got on the board first at the 32:55 mark of the first half by sophomore Chris Harmon with a header on an assist from freshman Gideon Asante. The Panthers tied the match two minutes later on a goal by Gimel Gordon for a 1-1 halftime score.

Georgia State took a 2-1 lead early in the second half when Ayokunle Lumpkin scored on an assist from Darryl Evans who intercepted a Monarch pass to set up the play.

Sophomore Jordan LeBlanc got the equalizer with 20 minutes left on a penalty kick after being fouled in the box, but five minutes later GSU would score back-to-back goals.

At the 75:30 Mark Evan Scott scored on a pass from Yasser Majluf, followed a minute later on a goal by Joey Syfert on a cross from Gimel Gordon to put the Panthers up 4-2.

ODU then scored two minutes later with 12 minutes left on a goal by Jordan LeBlanc on a cross into the net off a Panther defender. In all, both teams scored two goals each during an eight minute period.

ODU had 14 shots and eight on goal on the night while Georgia State had 17 shots and nine on goal.

ODU keeper Evan Newton had five saves, while the Panthers Vincent Foemer had five saves as well.

LeBlanc now had five goals on the year, while Harmon has four goals. The assist from Asante was his second of the season. In other CAA matches tonight, W&M defeated JMU, 2-1 to remain in first and VCU and UNC Wilmington battled to a 0-0 tie.

The Monarchs continue their road trip this weekend with a Saturday night match against the Pride of Hofstra in Hempstead, NY.
