NORFOLK, VA-- The ODU Soccer Monarchs host second ranked Tar Heels of North Carolina Tuesday night at 7 p.m. in the ODU Soccer Complex.

The Tar Heels (5-1) are led in scoring by Senior midfielder Michael Farfan and sophomore forward Enzo Martinez with two goals and one assist each. Senior Eddie Ababio also has two goals for UNC whose only loss was to top ranked Akron. North Carolina reached the NCAA College Cup semi-finals last year.

ODU and UNC have met 11 times with the Tar Heels holding a 5-4-2 edge. The last time the two teams met it ended in a 1-1 tie in 2007. ODU won the 2006 NCAA matchup in Chapel Hill. The Monarchs also won the 2004 match-up in Norfolk, 3-2.

ODU is 4-2-1 after a 0-0 tie with George Mason Saturday night. Sophomore Chris Harmon leads The Monarchs with three goals, two assists and eight points. Jordan LeBlanc has two goals and one assist for five points, while Gideon Asante has a goal and an assist.

In the net, Evan Newton has four shutouts and a 0.48 goals against average. He is five saves shy of the school record of 207 set by Joey Mallia (ODU 1987-90). Evan has been named CAA Player of the Week. He made 11 total saves and posted back-to-back shutouts as Old Dominion opened CAA play with a victory over William & Mary (1-0) and a tie with George Mason (0-0).

Tickets are $5 for adults, $4 for senior citizens, faculty staff, and military and $3 for students without an ODU I.D.
