TUCSON, ARIZ. - Collegiate Baseball newspaper has named ODU's newcomers for the upcoming 2010-11 season as one of the top incoming classes in the nation.
The newspaper ranked the top 40 classes and included the Monarchs in the group of honorable Mention teams, placing ODU among the nations' top 100 classes.
The Monarchs' 11 newcomers include infielder Brian Bashara (Fr. Maury HS/Norfolk, Va.), catcherJoey Burney (Fr.-Gloucester/VA, Gloucester, VA.) , infielder Jared Lipscombe (Fr.- Hanover HS/Mechanicsville, VA.), infielder TyYesensky (Fr., Maine-Endwell HS/Endwell, NY.), righthander Bryan Ramirez (Fr- Kempsville HS/Virginia Beach, VA.), righthander Dean Ali (Fr-Indian River HS/Chesapeake, VA.), righthander Cody Cox (Fr.- Grassfield HS/Chesapeake, VA.), righthander Mike Ney (Jr. Gloucester Co. JUCO/Landisville, NJ.),infielder Brandon Stahl (Fr,St. Dominic HS/ East Norwich, NY.)righthander Louis Singleton (Fr, Granby HS/Norfolk, VA.),and righthander/infielder Ben Verlander(Goochland HS/Maidens, VA.).
Two other CAA schools, James Madison and Georgia State were also mentioned.
