NORFOLK, VA-- The ODU Soccer Monarchs (3-2) begin Colonial Athletic Association play Tuesday night when they host the Tribe of the College of WIlliam and Mary(4-1) at 7 p.m. in the ODU Soccer Complex. The Tribe are ranked No. 27 in the latest TopDrawer Soccer Poll and No. 28 by College Soccer News. ODU is ranked No. 10in the latest NSCAA South Atlantic regional rankings.
The Monarchs have a stretch of three straighthome matches that also include George Mason on Saturday and last year's NCAAsemi-finalist North Carolina on Tuesday, Sept. 28.
The Tribe is led by Ryan Snyder who has scored four goals along with one assistfor nine points. Alan Koger has two goals and pre-season All-American Nat Baakohas two assists and a goal.
ODU and W&M have met 46 previous times with the Tribe holding a slight edge at20-18-8. W&M has won the last two meetings, including last year's 2-1 decisionin Williamsburg.
Sophomore Chris Harmon (Downingtown, PA.) leads ODU in scoring with three goals, one assists for seven points. Freshman Gideon Asante (Sunyani, Ghana) and sophomore Jardan LeBlanc (Haverford, PA.) both have one goal and one assist for three points.
In the goal, senior Evan Newton (Virginia Beach, VA.) has a 0.76 goals against average along with two shutouts and 11 saves.
