NORFOLK, Va.- Old Dominion University women's soccer returns home to take on Atlantic Coast COnference opponent NC State Friday night at the Old Dominion Soccer Stadium.
The Lady Monarchs come into the contest 2-1-1 after a 2-1 overtime win at Radford on Sunday. The WOlfpack is 5-3 on the year following a 1-0 triumph over Florida International last week.
About the Lady Monarchs
Jocelyn Weidner, Kirstin Walker and Amber Cook all lead ODU with two goals apiece, while Weidner leads the squad with five points. Junior Rachael Carroll leads the team with three assists, all three have come off of either corner kicks or free kicks.
Brianna Alvarado has played every minute in goal, making nine saves and posting a 1.18 goals against average.
About the Wolfpack
NC State has jumped on opponents early, having outscored their opponents 8-0 in the first half. On the other hand, Old Dominion has not allowed a first half goal this year.
The Wolfpack are led by Jennie Krauser and Kristina Argiroff, with four goals apiece while Krauser and Tanya Cain are tied for the team lead with four assists.
Kim Kern has started all eight games in goal for the Pack, stopping 18 shots with a 0.71 GAA.
Lady Monarchs on Top Drawer Soccer
Topdrawersoccer.com recently ranked the top-20 players in each conference. The Lady Monarchs' were represented by Lisa Bernardini, Ashlee Coutu and Ashley Kukura.
Bernardini earned all-CAA honors last season and was named to the all-Rookie team as a freshman.
Coutu led ODU in goals last season and earned all-CAA honors.
Kukura is a two-time all-CAA performer at midfield.

Following the Lady Monarchs' game, the men's soccer squad takes on Elon at 8 p.m.

The Lady Monarchs will head to UNC Greensboro on Sunday for a 2 p.m. match against the Spartans. UNCG is 4-1-1 on the year, with wins over Wake Forest and Charlotte. Tabitha Padgett and Lauren Hein lead the team with two goals apiece.
